Description

Black Polymer Solar Filters

At Rainbow Symphony, our Black Polymer Solar Filters are an affordable alternative to aluminum cell and glass filters. We’ve designed them with superior quality and cost in mind to ensure you get long lasting filters that create great images of the sun. You can use these filters with telescopes, binoculars, cameras, and finder scopes.

Benefits of Black Polymer

Unlike other solar filters, our black polymer solar film provides a more pleasing and natural yellow-orange image of the sun. This color also offers more contrast and clarity than other solar films. The advantages of the black polymer solar filters make them stronger and more durable than other, thinner film solar filters.

**The actual filtering properties are protected within the substrate. Patent is pending.

How to Size Your Filter

Your black polymer solar filter cell fits over the outside of the device you wish to use. Measure the outside diameter (OD) of the device and choose the filter size with the inside dimension (ID) that is larger than your device’s OD. In this case, the filter ID is 76 mm.

Do not choose a filter the same size as your OD. This will be too tight and won’t allow room for it to fit over your device. Adhesive felt lining is included to help make a custom size and snug fit.

Warranty

The safety of this product is guaranteed due to a coating that has a transmission of 0.001% or less. All solar filters are covered by a limited liability warranty from defects in material and workmanship. The R-G solar film, 2+ Solar Glass Filter, and Black Polymer is tested before shipment. If the film or filter has arrived damaged, we will replace it for free. All eclipse film from Rainbow Symphony is ISO Compliant and CE Certified.

All of our solar viewing materials are optical density 5 or greater and are "CE" certified which meets the transmission requirements of scale 12-16 of EN 169/1992. All our eclipse glasses meets the 2012 Transmission Requirements of EN 1836:2005 & AS/NZS 1338.1:1992 for Eclipse filters. (Queensland Directive) Meets the Standard for ISO 12312-2:2015

Do not use any film that shows any form of defect. Please contact us for further return instructions.

Solar filters

Great deal. These are pretty hard to find right now and I was glad to get them. I have a pair of 12x63 binos from Orion and these fit very nicely.

Great filter

Well made great buy! I have a pair of 9x63 Mini giants by Orion and the 76mm lens fit perfect. I did make one mistake, and placed my order for one and was thinking pair. So I will be placing my order for another one so I can have one on each side of my bino. My mistake!

Excellent for those with a low budget

Be aware that it is not a neutral filter, which could be a lot more expensive.

OK!

I'm using a pair of these on my 7x50 and am very happy with it.

the only small minor issue - unrelated to the design of the filter - is that my binoculars have their front lens covers permanently attached, but the small protrusions just fit the filters enough.

I got the Sun in my Eyes!

Your solar filter is awesome. I like to do Solar imaging with my telescopes in the Hydrogen Alpha and Calcium K wavelengths. But I was missing something and that was white light! When I do my imaging, I like to see what is happening on the three layers of the Sun: the Solar Continuum (bottom), Calcium K (middle) and Hydrogen Alpha (top). Using a white light Solar filter from Rainbow Symphony helps me achieve that goal. So, when in doubt, go with Rainbow Symphony. So far, the best solar filter for the money!
